14 credit cards not registered at BKR, ranked on live data (2026). How we rank
How this ranking works
Every card here checks BKR, the Dutch credit register, when you apply. They ask that you have no negative registration, which a blank record from someone who just arrived meets. What these cards skip is registration: the card is not recorded in your BKR file when you get it, so its limit does not count against what you can borrow for a mortgage later. Debit cards need no BKR check because they lend nothing; the credit card page lists them separately.
- A credit or charge card that its issuer says is not registered at BKR
- Checked against BKR when you apply, in the issuer’s own words
- Ranked on annual fee, foreign transaction fee, and included insurance

Questions
Can I get a credit card in the Netherlands without a BKR check?
Not with the cards on this page: each one checks BKR when you apply. A blank record, normal if you just arrived, is not a reason to refuse you, because the issuers ask only that you have no negative registration. If you want no check at all, a debit card is the alternative, since it lends you nothing.
What is the difference between a BKR check and BKR registration?
A check is a look-up when you apply. Registration records the card and its limit in your BKR file, where a mortgage lender sees it and counts the limit against what you can borrow. The cards here are looked up but not recorded. Payment arrears can still be reported to BKR.
Which card that isn’t registered at BKR ranks highest?
ICS MasterCard Classic ranks first, followed by ICS Visa World Card, on annual fee, foreign transaction fee and included insurance.
